A striking combination specimen from Rotgülden in Salzburg, Austria. The matrix is almost entirely composed of highly lustrous chalcopyrite displaying intense metallic gold, bronze and iridescent colors. Covering much of the surface are numerous hedgehog-like clusters of slender quartz crystals, creating a remarkable contrast against the shimmering sulfide matrix. The interplay between the bright white quartz and the colorful metallic chalcopyrite makes this a particularly eye-catching specimen from this classic Alpine locality.
