1. How Shipping Works on MineralBids

MineralBids is a marketplace.
All items are sold and shipped by independent vendors.

Shipping costs are:

  • Set by each vendor

  • Calculated automatically by the platform

  • Displayed before purchase

MineralBids does not set, modify, or negotiate shipping fees.

2. Shipping Cost Calculation

2.1 Automatic Calculation

Shipping costs are calculated automatically for each vendor based on:

  • The vendor’s shipping charges

  • Item weight and configuration

  • Destination country

If you purchase multiple items from the same vendor and auction slot, shipping may be combined automatically where applicable.

2.2 Buyer Responsibility

Buyers must:

  • Review shipping costs before bidding or buying

  • Ensure they understand the total cost, including shipping

By placing a bid or completing a purchase, the buyer accepts the shipping cost shown at checkout.

3. Alternative Shipping Arrangements

MineralBids applies only the shipping methods and charges configured by the vendor.

If a buyer wishes to:

  • Use a different shipping method

  • Request faster, slower, cheaper, or more expensive shipping

This must be arranged directly with the vendor, outside the platform.

Any such arrangement:

  • Does not affect checkout pricing

  • Does not change platform-calculated shipping

  • Is the sole responsibility of buyer and vendor

4. Vendor Shipping Setup (Important)

Vendors are required to:

  • Carefully configure shipping charges

  • Accurately enter item weight for shipping calculation purposes
    (This is not specimen weight for display, but shipping-related weight)

  • Test their shipping setup before listing items

  • Consider packaging materials when setting weights and prices

  • Accept Open Box arrangements requested via MineralBids and for items sold within this site

Incorrect shipping setup may result in:

  • Undercharged shipping

  • Delays

  • Disputes with buyers

MineralBids is not responsible for incorrect vendor shipping settings.

5. Packaging & Fragile Items

Vendors are responsible for:

  • Secure and appropriate packaging

  • Protecting items during transport

  • Choosing suitable packing materials

Vendors are advised to exercise caution when listing:

  • Extremely fragile specimens

  • Items requiring special handling

MineralBids does not prohibit the sale of fragile items, but:

  • The risk lies with the vendor

  • Damage due to inadequate packaging is the vendor’s responsibility

6. Buyer Responsibilities Upon Delivery

Buyers are responsible for:

  • Being available to receive the shipment

  • Collecting packages in time

  • Opening packages carefully

  • Inspecting items promptly after delivery

If there is a problem (damage, missing items, incorrect item):

  • The buyer must contact the vendor as soon as possible

  • Delayed reporting may affect the outcome of a dispute

7. Seller Policies

Each vendor operates under their own shipping and return policies.

Vendors must:

  • Clearly state their shipping, handling, and return policies

  • Ensure policies are accurate and up to date

Vendor policies are:

  • Displayed on each product page

  • Binding between buyer and vendor

MineralBids does not override or enforce individual vendor policies.

8. Platform Role & Limitations

MineralBids:

  • Provides the technical system for shipping calculation and display

  • Does not handle shipping or delivery

  • Does not modify shipping costs

  • Is not responsible for delays, damage, or loss during transit

9. Open-Box Shipping (new-beta)

Open Box Shipping — Terms & Conditions

Open Box Shipping is a BETA feature provided for convenience only.

By using Open Box Shipping, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • The feature is new and experimental in live use.

  • Each order placed using Open Box Shipping is a separate, fully paid order.

  • Open Box Shipping affects shipping only and does not combine, delay, or alter payments.

  • MineralBids does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Open Box Shipping feature.

  • MineralBids reserves the right to modify, suspend, or disable Open Box Shipping at any time, temporarily or permanently, without prior notice.

  • MineralBids shall not be held responsible for delays, additional shipping charges, or inconvenience arising from the use, suspension, or malfunction of this feature.

  • In case Open Box Shipping is disabled, orders will be handled individually or manually, if necessary.

Use of Open Box Shipping constitutes acceptance of these terms.
